Privacy

Your images stay on your device

OpenLUT decodes and processes imported images locally in your browser. Images, grading adjustments and exported files are not uploaded to an OpenLUT server. Recipe, image and LUT exports are created on your device.

No account or application tracking

OpenLUT does not require an account. The application does not include advertising trackers, behavioural analytics or application cookies. OpenLUT does not sell personal information.

Website delivery

The site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard network and request information, such as IP addresses and security telemetry, to deliver and protect the website according to its own privacy and data-processing terms. OpenLUT does not receive copies of imported images through this hosting process.

Local browser state

Temporary application state may exist in browser memory while OpenLUT is open. Closing or refreshing the page may remove unsaved work. Use a recipe export when you want to preserve and restore a grade.

Using OpenLUT

OpenLUT is a free beta creative tool provided “as is” and “as available.” It is provided without warranties of accuracy, compatibility, reliability or fitness for a particular workflow.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for selecting appropriate input and output color transforms, checking exported LUTs and images in their intended camera, software, display and production environment, and maintaining backups of your work. OpenLUT should not be the sole means of validating a production color pipeline.

Your material

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to use images and other material you open in OpenLUT. Your imported images and grading work remain on your device as described above.

Availability and changes

OpenLUT may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn without notice. The application may contain errors and may not behave identically across browsers, hardware, cameras or third-party software.

OpenLUT is built with open color-science research and open-source software. We are grateful to the people and organisations who make this work available to the community.

Color management

ACES and OpenColorIO

OpenLUT uses the Academy Color Encoding System and GPU transforms generated with OpenColorIO 2.5.1 from the official OpenColorIO-Config-ACES reference configurations for ACES 1.3 and ACES 2.0. OpenColorIO and its ACES configurations are provided under the BSD 3-Clause License. ACES components are maintained by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ACES contributors under the Apache License 2.0.

Application software

React

The application interface uses React, React DOM and Scheduler, provided under the MIT License by Meta and contributors.

Tailwind CSS

Lucide

Interface icons are provided by Lucide under the ISC License, with portions originating from Feather under the MIT License. Copyright belongs to Cole Bemis and the Lucide contributors.

image-rs and Rust/WebAssembly

Local JPEG, PNG, TIFF and OpenEXR decoding uses image-rs together with wasm-bindgen, js-sys and their transitive Rust dependencies. These components are provided under their respective permissive open-source licenses, including MIT, Apache 2.0, BSD, Zlib, 0BSD and Unicode 3.0 terms. Exact versions are recorded in OpenLUT's locked dependency manifests.

ARRI sample frame

The sample frame included with OpenLUT is provided by ARRI and is used for workflow testing and evaluation only. ARRI names, trademarks and color-science terminology remain the property of their respective owner. Inclusion does not imply endorsement of OpenLUT by ARRI.
